The Little Footsteps Child Development Center (LFCDC) is a private, non-profit child development center licensed by the NJ Bureau of Licensing and sponsored by the Wayne Police Athletic League.  We offer full-day programs for preschoolers, ages 2 to 6, as well as a part-time kindergarten enrichment program, from 7am to 6pm (extended care available to 6:30pm).  We welcome all children regardless of race, creed or religion.  Little Footsteps believes that learning and growing come to a child one step at a time.  Because we understand early childhood development, we respect each youngster as an individual and provide a program geared to meet their emotional, social and developmental needs, providing a stimulating, age-appropriate curriculum where curiosity and fun are part of the learning process.

With the varying needs of today's families, we believe in maintaining a good rapport between parents and our staff.  Parental involvement is strongly encouraged, and we have an "open door policy" for visiting the center.  We also understand how important your precious little ones are to you, and so our building is equipped with a security system in order to ensure the safety of your child.  Your child's protection and well-being are our top priorities.

Little Footsteps will work towards becoming accredited by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) as soon as we are open for one year, as required.  Programs seeking accreditation undergo an intensive self-study, collecting information from partners, teachers, administrators and through classroom observations.  Program seeking accreditation receive an on-site visit, conducted by an early childhood professional who is specially trained by NAEYC, to validate their self-study results.  When awarded accreditation, it is valid for three years.  It is the goal of our Director, our staff and the Wayne PAL to achieve the highest standards of care at our center where children are loved, nurtured and educated in a safe and stimulating environment.  Parents can look forward to the Wayne PAL and our staff at the center to fulfilling our commitment to excellence for young children who attend the Little Footsteps Child Development Center.
